Data show that in May this year, the number of imports and exports of China's integrated circuit products were 39.64 billion and 21.3 billion, respectively, and the total value of imports and exports was 26.357 billion US dollars and 9.834 billion US dollars.
In the first five months of this year (January-May), China imported 186.48 billion IC products, down 19.6% year-on-year from 231.98 billion in the first five months of 2022; Exports reached 103.43 billion, down 11.7% from 117.14 billion in the same period last year.
From the perspective of total imports and exports, in the first five months, China's total imports of integrated circuit products were US $131.9 billion, down 24.2% year-on-year, and total exports were US $52.57 billion, down 17.2% year-on-year.
Chip sales in China rose 2.9 percent month-on-month in April
At present, despite the continued weakness of the semiconductor industry and the aggravation of the market downturn by global economic headwinds, the Chinese chip market seems to be performing well.
According to the latest report released recently by the US Semiconductor Industry Association (SIA), in April this year, global semiconductor chip sales were $40 billion, down 21.6% year-on-year, and an increase of 0.3%.
From the perspective of regional sales performance, in addition to the Chinese market chip sales increased by 2.9% quarter-on-quarter, the Japanese market increased by 0.9% quarter-on-quarter, chip sales in Europe, the Americas and other markets in Asia Pacific all recorded a quarter-on-quarter decline, down 0.6%, 1.0% and 1.1% respectively.
